Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 15, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Mid-America Lone (“Mid-America Lone,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Driver’s Permit Practice website at midamericalone.com/driverspermit (the “Service”). It should be read together with our Terms And Conditions.

This page explains our site practices in plain language. It is not personalized legal advice.

1. Who This Policy Covers

The Service is used by parents or guardians who create accounts and by students who take practice exams with a student email and access code. If you register a minor, you are responsible for that student’s use of the Service and for providing information about them as described here.

2. Information We Collect

Account and profile information

When a parent signs up or manages an account, we collect:

  • Parent name and parent email address
  • Password (stored as a secure hash; we do not store your plain-text password)
  • Selected U.S. state for practice materials
  • Account activity such as last login time

When students are added, we collect:

  • Student name and student email address
  • A four-digit access code chosen for that student
  • Exam length preferences (for example, 25–100 questions)

Practice activity

When a student practices, we store quiz attempts, scores, timing, completion status, and answers so the parent dashboard can show progress and so we can send related notification emails.

Location and network data (student practice)

When a student logs in to take a practice exam, we may store their IP address and an approximate city derived from that IP so parents can see where practice activity appears to originate. This location is approximate and may be inaccurate.

Technical and security data

  • Session information needed to keep you signed in while using the Service
  • Information submitted through forms (including support or password-reset requests)
  • reCAPTCHA responses used to help reduce spam and abuse on sign-up and login forms

Analytics and advertising-related data

We use Google Analytics (via Google tags) to understand how the site is used in aggregate (for example, pages visited and device/browser information). Advertising areas on the home page may record clicks for our internal reporting so we know which promotions are used. Third-party ad destinations have their own privacy practices when you leave our site.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information above to:

  • Create and maintain parent and student accounts
  • Deliver practice exams, scores, and parent dashboard results
  • Email parents about practice activity (for example, when a student finishes or leaves an exam mid-test), including approximate location when available
  • Send password-reset and account-related messages
  • Operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service
  • Measure site usage and ad performance
  • Communicate with parents about Mid-America Lone projects related to midamericalone.com or this Service (including optional promotional or product emails)
  • Comply with law and enforce our Terms

Student emails are used for student login, linking practice results to the right student, and related account operation. We do not use student email addresses for marketing campaigns when that address appears only in the student field.

Parent emails may be used for Service notifications and for email about midamericalone.com / Driver’s Permit Practice (sometimes also referred to as related project names such as Ride To Drive). You may contact us (see Section 11) if you want to stop promotional messages; transactional messages needed for the account may still be sent.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share information with:

  • Service providers who help us run the Service (for example hosting, email delivery, analytics, and reCAPTCHA / Google), limited to what they need to perform those services
  • The parent associated with a student, who can see that student’s practice results and related location indicators on the dashboard / in notification emails
  • Legal or safety situations, if we believe disclosure is required by law or needed to protect rights, security, or integrity of the Service or others
  • Business transfers, if Mid-America Lone is involved in a merger, sale, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate continuing protections

Links, ads, and third-party sites (including merchants) are outside our control. Their collection of information is governed by their own policies.

5. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use session cookies or similar technologies so the Service can remember that you are signed in. Analytics and security tools (such as Google Analytics and reCAPTCHA) may set their own cookies or similar identifiers. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some features (including staying logged in).

6. Children’s Privacy

The Service is designed for family use under a parent or guardian account. Parents supply student information and control student access codes. We do not knowingly market to children using student email addresses. If you believe a child’s information was provided without appropriate parental authority, contact us and we will take reasonable steps to delete it.

7. Data Retention

We keep account, practice, and related records while the account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for the purposes above, backups, dispute resolution, security, and legal compliance. You may ask us to close an account; we will delete or de-identify associated personal data when we no longer need it, except where we must retain information by law or for legitimate ongoing needs (for example fraud prevention).

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the nature of the Service (including hashed passwords and access controls on administrative tools). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. Please keep parent passwords and student access codes confidential.

9. Your Choices

  • Update parent or student details from the parent dashboard where those controls are available
  • Request account deletion or correction by contacting us
  • Opt out of parent promotional emails by contacting us (transactional notices may continue)
  • Use browser controls for cookies and review Google’s tools for Analytics / ads where applicable

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (for example access or deletion). Contact us to make a request; we may need to verify your identity and your authority over a household account.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top of this page will change when we do. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised Policy. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and request account closure if applicable.
